MERRY CHRISTMAS

This is mine and Jill's Christmas tree. YEAH!!

The presents underneath represent all of the blessings that God given us this year, and it's our way of trying to repay the friends and family that touched us! Thank you for everything, God has surely given us both the best families i think anyone could have picked! Too y'all we LOVE YOU WITH ALL OUR HEARTS.

Let me explain the title...'GAS' refers to the driving, not that smelly junk that comes out the wrong end of Deanna sometimes. :)

The Day started with the traditional Turkey lunch at the Funderburks in Phenix City!

I'm glad I got this pic along with a couple more of the 3 generations of women in Jill's family. But that's all i've got from there, I don't know what happened, i'm usually trigger happy with the camera. I must have been too involved with trying to listen to JT and his new girlfriend (well he says not yet, but it's in the makin'). There was a great picture that I wish i'd gotten of the whole family eating! With Aunt Bobbie, Uncle Roy, Uncle Charles, Aunt Carol, JT, Nanny, Kim, Chris, Mrs. Shelrea, Mr. Jan, Andy, and Jill!! Please forgive me, but i'll have to see if Andy has one. That was a great lunch!

Then it was off it Anniston around 4.

Here's me and Momma! I told you i'd get some more pics of her. So here's one. She can't seem to get the concept of holding the smile until the picture takes yet. But she's getting there :)

The Harley Village takes New Shape!

Ok it's that time of year again! It may even by a bit early, but i don't care... We got all our Christmas stuff down Yesterday, and First things first! The Harley village!

It's not going to be long before we need a table for it!!!! I'm so excited about that. The coolest thing is the new addition.

How can a you have a village without somewhere for the people to live. And what better way for the people of the Harley village to live than in their Trailer!

I'm sure that she's not happy about me putting this picture on here, but this is the only picture I have of Momma from the WHOLE weekend! Well it was homecoming on the plains and Jill and I had Deesa and her new boyfriend (big Auburn fan, already a good guy in our book) and Waldo and Amber down for the game!

If you notice Deesa wasn't to up for a pic sporting her new found loves colors....but don't worry i'll get one.

See! not only was i able to get Deesa wearing BIG BLUE'S colors I was informed that i had also snapped the first ever picture of the happy couple! SWEET!!!

By the way Deesa, you look great in orange and blue, WAR EAGLE!!!

And what day out is complete without our Jill and Josh Shot! GO TIGERS!!

Over all it turned out to be a great day! The Tigers won and we got Deesa to show her true colors! it was great.

Momma and Deddy are getting old...and well this kinda proves it.... but i've gotta tell ya they're still VERY young at heart!

Yep that's right! this is their 25th year as a happily married couple! So the girls and i decided to do something a little special for them. So, we through them a surprise tailgate party!

Now, i would like to say that it was all me and the girls, but this thing would have NEVER happened without the help of Jill and her awesome invitations!!!! and all her support, Aunt Lynne who got the 60" TV, did most all the cooking (even a replica wedding cake identical to the original!), Deesa, Deanna, Uncle Bryan, Grandeddy, Grammy, Paw-Paw, Tom and Kathy (kept momma and deddy busy ALL day--not easy!), even Mr. and Mrs. Clemmet ended up being a vital part of this covert operation! With out these guys none of this would have happened! But i never could thank these guys enough so i won't try here.

Ok, so Jill and I have been together 2 whole years now! can anyone else not believe this? So, we decided to test our camping skills to celebrate. We got away to Henderson Beach, no not our back yard, Destin, FL... it was great!!! Here are some pics from our awesome trip....

First off, this is our tent... thats me being overwhelmed! i didn't know i had bought a castle!!!! you can actually stand up in it! unreal...i'm used to having to lay down to get dressed in a tent. this one you could even turn over with out fear of knocking it down... it was great!!!!

Our first sunrise @ our home for the week! Man does it get any better than that... i don't think so.

One of Jill's friends decided that he'd take this plunge that all our friends seem to be taking now...Marriage. So, Jill and I set out to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi last week. We met Brandi and Shane along the way, because let's face it, no matter how much we like the person that's getting married, us guys have got to have someone to joke with during the ceremony while the girls are getting all teary-eyed. And who better to do that with than some of your best friends!

Anywho, here are some pics from our trip...

This is the view from the front of the church. You can see that is was a circle driveway, and where the sand is...used to be Beach St. But the Hurricane Katrina took the street and much more away from these great people. But they're getting back. The church itself had undergone renovation before Katrina hit, it was ruined after the storm hit almost a year ago. They had just finished the floors Wednesday, the pughs Friday, and still had plywood front doors...but this church and wedding were beautiful!

This is Shane and Brandi some of our favorite people!! You might notice them from last years blog entry from the great CHEAHA Mt.... This is me and Jill!!! Sorry I just love this hold out the camera and take a picture thing....

Just look how ornate these windows are!!! This church is over 154 years old! and in great condition... Imean how awesome is this ceiling! I wish I had a lens that could get the whole thing! it's beautiful!

So the Funderburk's went to Ft. Walton last week for their Summer vacation. then they decided they missed us too much and invited us down! So we packed up Saturday morning about 3:30am and drove down to the most beautiful beaches in the world...Anyway, it was a great trip too short though!! Can't wait to go back... here are a few pics.

OH, I can't forget to tell you about the Lucky Snapper! If you go to Destin or Ft. Walton you've got to try the Lucky Snapper...very good! Blackened Grouper, Seafood gumbo, hot and tangy Shrimp!, crab cakes, fried shrimp, really good cheese rolls! and the best part, it's open air!!! so much fun!

Ok I know I'm late with this, and I'm very sorry... what's sad is that I'm just now mentioning it! Back in May Jill and I rode down to God's 2nd country (the 1st being Anniston, of course), Ft. Deposit. This just happens to be the place of some of the best people in the WORLD's family. Who own a farm, which with nothing else to describe it to I've got to say, looks like what I would consider HEAVEN to be. And guys I'm not kidding!

This place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL... Anyway, this is where a couple of my favorite people got married. Ryan and the NEW Mrs. Lombardi, Hanna.

Let me explain in as few words as possible how important these people are to me. If I had not known these two people I would have never had the opportunity to befriend some of the greatest people that God could have placed in my life. Because of Hanna and Lombardi, I was able to met the Godly-est, kindest, friendliest, most caring, sincere, loving, and the list goes on and on....people I could have had the pleasure to meet. Biscuet, John Prichett, Peter, Jared, Shannon, Pat, Rachel, Meredith, Billie, Dianne, Carol, Wilki, Rebecca, Yetty, Paul, Daniel, Isbo, Karen, Ryan Perry, T. Brooks, Matt and April, Will, Jake, Josh, the Blounts, etc.... if i forgot someone I'm so sorry but these are just some of the guys and girls I've met directly through these 2 people!

So needless to say Lombardi and Hanna mean a lot to me, and I hope y'all don't mind but I got these pics off of other peoples blogs, because I didn't have any pictures of the wedding and I really wanted something to remember that weekend...

Jill and I love you guys and wish you nothing but the best with you're lives! You have definitely blessed ours.

Ok I know ya'll are getting tired of my posts about stuff around the house, but I'm sorry, I'm very proud... :-)

Really I'm just excited that Jill and I can plant stuff and it actually grow. Apart were a black and brown thumb, but together it's like the brightest green you've ever seen...anyway, here are a couple of pics of the side of our porch where there used to be 2 HUGE and UGLY azalea bushes.
The big bushes are Japanese clearia, the ones in front of those are nandenia and then there are leriopy lining the front of the bed...

NOTE: I have no idea how to spell any of those plant names... and neither does this spell checker... :)

Yes that's right! For the first time in couple of decades, the Funderburk's and Day's are getting together for a Family Reunion!

these guys are the reason we got together. the 1st cousin's... in this group are missionaries, lawyers, a teacher and a BRAND NEW Principal...the principal is my father-in-law. He just got the job as Principal of Central Phenix City High School!!!

This is everybody!!! Cool huh! These guys are so interesting. There's a pilot, several missionaries, lawyers, a Judge, teachers, there's even a UPS guy in this bunch!

Oh on that note...in case i haven't told anyone, i'm one of the NEW Supervisors @ UPS... Jill and I are very excited about that!

Ok, more like it's very popular in China and Japan. While we were there there were more people from outside the US than there are in Talladega on race weekend... but it really was cool getting to see this HUGE rock just sitting in the middle of Georgia.

You'll have to excuse that title. I know most of you are thinking, "Why in the world did Hendu have Easter in Panama City?"
If that is what you thought, you were wrong! But it was equally as BEAUTIFULL in our PC...Phenix City. Where we thank GOD constantly that Jesus rose on that third day!!!

I guess I'll start by stressing that we were at The Henderson residence! Yes that's right that means Jill cooked!!! But wait before you faint, let me just say that there wasn't ONE complaint. As a matter of fact it was perfection! My angel did a wonderful...no no no...magnificant job on everything! And I did ok too.

Here's my turkey...And before you squalk (is that a word?) I did cook it on the grill! What other way is there to cook anothing? Right? No, really though I thought it was pretty good.

Taurs Caine gets Hitched!

Yes this is my cousin... can you believe that i've got a Rapper cousin!? I knew he was trying to get out in the publics ears, but I think he's done it now. Their song "Sweet Home AL" (Dirty South Version)...has been on KFC commercials and Monday Night Football promos. Pretty sweet, huh? Well anyway, I'm sure how the rest of their stuff is but this song is ok, it's definitely a "different" version of "Sweet Home Alabama." Their name is Boyz After Money Always (/or BAMA). My cousin is Brian "Torus Caine" Morris and the other guy is "Rain."

So why on earth am I telling y'all this now? Well, that's a good question. It's on my mind because Jill and I, and the rest of my family saw him get hitched this weekend on the Beach in Gulf Shores. It was a nice wedding, but the first I'd ever seen where the guests had beer during the ceremony...but to each his own I guess. Anyway, it was VERY VERY nice, the weather was great, the food was good, and the sunset just as the ceremony was getting underway! BEAUTIFUL.
Here are a couple of pics from this weekend. It's the first time mine or Jill's bodies had seen sun light since our honeymoon! Man we need to get out more!!!

OH. Jill, no longer has any hair!! Isn't it gorgeous!!!! I love it. She's got a whole new look!

Momma and deddy had a great time. As usual Momma and Aunt Lynne ended up helping (unexpectedly) with the wedding. But the Bride's mom could've used their help much early. She was a tad stressed, but did a good job holding it all together.

Jonny "Green Bean," he's too cool. Drove(FLEW) down from Wetumpka and made it to the Wedding in plenty of time. Only to find the wedding starting 30 min late... then stayed to help clean up until 2:30 AM, what a trooper!

This my friends is a wonderfully pleased couple in the presents of such country (and some not so Country) Greats, such as Vince Gill, Diane Krall (Elvis Costello's wife) Elvis Costello, Emmy Lou Harris, Mark Willis, and SOOO many more!!! At the Grand Ol' Opry!!!! It was great! We got to see it in the Ryman! Which is so beautiful.
We also had the pleasure of visiting Jill's favorite place in the World, The Hatch Show print store.

This is where we stayed. What's that you ask? Oh, yes that's snow! 3 inches of it!!! It was the first time i've seen snow in like 3 years! It was just a wonderful trip!
Good company and Great food!!! and Good entertainment!With Momma, Deddy, Grammy, and Grandeddy!! What more can you ask for?

The Lapper!!

This my friend is the booth that Jill designed and built...trust me i was there. Anyway, little backgroud; this lady in Columbus invented a TV tray called the Lapper. She had the logo you see in the booth made, after she a several prototypes made of her lapper. The lapper is a TV tray with two circles cut into it which contain a rubbery (not rubber) pad that allows you to tilt the tray 60 degrees in any direction and your glass and plate(or bowl) will not move! it's very cool. Anyway, This is the booth that she put up at the market in Atlanta! She sold 1200 Lappers that weekend!!!! and because of this booth (that JILL did) she was invited to an invatation only show in Las Vagas!!!! And to Chicago, and she's asked Jill to go with her to both of them. Well Jill can't go to both, but she is going to Chicago! How exciting huh? Anyway, here's a couple more pics from that show.

Yes, this is over 4 months old. But hey, i'm just getting you caught up. and for my laziness you'll just have to suffer... :-)

NO, Jill and i have not been adoptin' kids for the past 3 months. We just wanted a family really bad that particular night so we kidnaped these kids and took a pic to show off. I think we picked some good fake kids, don't you?

Jill says this is the only kid we need, and against my better judgement i'm disclosing that this is actually, yep...it's me. just don't tell anybody.

This is as close to a Harley as we can get right now. But one day we WILL be livin' in this Harley Village!! This village was given to us by my late Uncle Joe. He was one of the coolest guys i've ever known. And this village will not only be up every Christmas season, but it will grow every year, each piece in his memory! Miss
you Uncle Joe...

Jill, me and Andy (jill's bro) all got rockin' chairs from the Funderburk HO HO!!! We were very excited about that! Now you can see them proudly displayed and USED (that's right we're porch rockers) on this porch right here...

SO, i know it's been years since i put something in here. But life has been so good that i haven't had time to slow down enought to update anything! Can ya'll believe that? The sad part is that i don't have any pics to put up with me. But they will be on here soon, like, this afternoon. But anyway, just before Christmas UPS got slammed...ok we pretty much were burried in boxes. every single day until the day after Christmas. But it was really nice having some extra doe to spend on eveybody including my lovely wife, who Santa was very nice too this year. We also went to "Fantasy in Lights" up at Callaway Gardens, and let me tell you, if you've never been...YOU MUST GO THIS YEAR!!! it was beautiful!! The hot chocolate and ginger bread cookies were the best! School was very good to me last semester too, that had a lot to do with my wonderful Christmas break. Although i'm still not out, i'm getting closer with every class i take!
Jill is great! Someone from Columbus invented this thing called "The Lapper" and is doing all there stuff through Communicorp (Jill's Company). Well she loved Jill, who doesn't!? and asked her to be like her personal designer. So, Jill designed and made this lady's both for the market in Atlanta. It was so good that the lady has been invited to the BIG TIME market in Chicago, and she invited Jill to go with her. By the way that lady sold 1200 of the Lappers on the first weekend!!! I'll put some pictures of that show and the Lapper on this Blog too.
Anyway, hope all is well with everyone! Hannah and Lombardi it's gettin' close. We are very exited for ya'll.

It was a normal friday morning in Mid-October, bright sunny, with a little nip in the air. So, normal, yet something's different...but what is it.....OH YEA, we're going to Highland's!!! The Blain/Henderson Fall Trip #1....

We stayed in the beautiful Dillard House. Nestled in the foothills of the Appalacian Mountains. This first pic is the WONDERFULLY "FALL-ISTIC" view from our back porch. It was only the beginning! It only got better from there.

As a matter of fact, not even the $7 roast beef sandwich with no chips or a drink, could even put a damper on this magnificant get-away!

WOW!! There she is...my angel. This is a day trip we took to Destin, the best beach in the WORLD! Henderson Beach... This was Tan and Bake time....soon it was on to THE BACK PORCH for dinner....Ya'll should all try it. It's great seafood. So anyway, 8 hours of driving on made for some good bonding time, not to mention the wonderful meditaion like mini-vacation for both of us.

Before we were Mr. and Mrs. we were just Josh and Jill. This was my girlfriend! Ain't she sexy!? Our first braves game together and also the night I told her I loved her. She said....ummmm, Not ready...WHAT!? not ready, what ever the heck that meant. Anyway, she loved me she just didn't want to say it. Because, well just cause. By the way the Braves did win this game and it was the best time I'd ever had at a ball game, and ya'll know how many i've been to.

Well, i'm really doing this blog thing to catch everyone up and to continue the story of Josh and Jill....interesting, or boring as it may seem. We think this is a great way to keep up with the friends that we can't see everyday. And let ya'll in on our life.

Memphis! What else can i say...this is the first time that Jill did TN's State HOG Rally Logo. Man can you believe that Jill's a Harley Chick!? I didn't until i actually saw it for myself. This was probably the most anticipated event of OUR summer! It was the first time i'd been to Memphis and the best time i'll probably ever have there! It was truly a big step in our future.
